Jonah Energy Receives Coveted IOGCC Chair’s Stewardship Award

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) award recognizes achievement and demonstrates innovation, dedication and passion for our environment

Colorado Springs, CO., October 29, 2024 – The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) honored Jonah Energy LLC with its “Chair’s Stewardship Award” for going far beyond the basic mandates of law and regulation to protect and enhance our nation’s natural resources.

The award represents IOGCC’s highest honor for exemplary efforts by the oil and natural gas industry in environmental stewardship.

The IOGCC is a multi-state government agency that champions the conservation and efficient recovery and storage of domestic oil and gas resources while protecting human health and safety and the environment. IOGCC membership consists of the Governor’s of oil and gas producing states.

Wyoming Governor, and Chairman of the IOGCC, Mark Gordon presented Jonah Energy the award at IOGCC’s Annual Conference. In its award presentation, IOGCC highlighted Jonah Energy’s landscape approach in operating the Jonah Field and the significant reductions in air emissions, surface disturbance and enhanced voluntary protection of wildlife.  Jonah Energy’s deployment of solar, their reuse and recycle program for water and focus on community investment were also noted.

A particular focus was given to Jonah Energy’s commitment to partnerships and their leadership on critical environmental issues at a state and national level.
